This would be without any exercise.

No, not unless you are talking dramatically under 1,500 and then you will just be so hungry you wont know what to do with yourself!
Trust me, I’ve been there (I pretty much am still there) trying to not eat to slim down but you know, it isnt worth it. You’ll just be grumpy all the time.
You do need exercise and I know you dont want to hear that, just run around the house, put on a cd and dance like a maniac, run up and down the stairs or go for long walks! Cutting back on calories with some exercise should make a difference.
Please be sensible about it, I’m quite often not and its a stupid thing to put yourself through. it never lasts long enough and as soon as you start to eat you pile on the weight.
Maybe try meal replacement shakes…. tho I’d rather just have a small meal because the shakes fill you up for all of 10 minutes!
Good Luck losing weight, and only the weight you need to lose! None of this size 00 sh!t ok? Lol
    xXx

body needs at least 1500 calories a day if you done nothing to survive. if you go under this, your body will start storing the food that it does get as fat as your metabolism lowers. best way is to exercise and eat about 1750-2000 calories day, depedning on your weight. If you are obese then go for this, but if you are just wanting lto lose a few lbs, eat 2000 a day and moderate exericse.

  6. city4eva on February 8th, 2010 at 6:43 pm

Yes, and I know this for a fact.
My co worker started to eat between 1000-1500 calories per day, and she only got the same amount of exercise she did before ( basically just your general walking around, house cleaning etc ) and has lost almost 25 lbs. Just make sure that the calories you take in are healthy ones. By this I mean make sure you keep eating your fruits and veggies, and make sure you get all of your vitamins.
( Don’t count your drink calories. If you have a cup of coffee, consider it calorie free. Just make sure you drink a lot of water as well. )

Basically around 1500 calories is an average amount, it all depends on your BMI which are never that accurate. but exercise and healthy eating is the best way to lose weight.

technically it should at first, but u better plan on doing that for the rest of your life, because after long term, your body will program it self to burn calories slower than usual, hence lower metabolism, and the moment u start eating even 100 calories more you will put on weight easily. and it just goes downhill from there. eventually you’ll end up fatter than a regular person eating 2500 calories a day. so be careful of the changes u wanna make with your diet. especially if you like eating.

Exercise or you will gain it all back later.

No. Your metabolism will slow down and when you go back to eating normal for you, you will gain more weight! The solution? I’m going to tell you and please click the link before you think I am telling a april’s fool joke. I am not.
    Here’s the link: http://www.westonaprice.org/transition/f…
I got lean and buff by eating a lot of fat. Body fat is created by too many carbs, not too many calories that’s a myth. This is the way I ate when I lose body fat and built muscle tissue WITHOUT exercise.
Virgin Coconut Oil. It’s amazing. It acts on the thyroid to normalize it and this will have an effect on your metabolism. This burns body fat and is healthy for cholesterol, unlike the 80’s studies (they were done on hydrogenated coconut oil!)
1 stick of butter a day that I ate with lots of beef liver. I had beef liver 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). You can replace with chicken liver but it will not be as effective. I suggest to have it once a day.
Phosphatidyl Choline: derived from lecithin this supplement breaks down fats in the body and removes bad cholesterol. It is excellent for mood and skin.
L-Carnitine: burns body fat, builds lean muscle tissue. I took 500mg once a day.
Basically on Dr. Mercola’s website it will also tell you how healthy fat is for one’s diet, and that cholesterol is ONLY raised by sugar which acts on the homocysteine levels to raise them dangerously hence creating a cascade of high cholesterol, high inflammation and therefore fat. Drs. are lying to us. For the most part they are UNEDUCATED and they get paid for NOT healing patients.
Dr Perricone advocates Alpha Lipoic Acid. It quells inflammation in the body which is what keeps fat people fat and gaining more fat.
Please google all these names and read the link I provided. It took me one week to see a HUGE difference in my body, I couldn’t believe it! Dietary fat is anabolic (creates muscle). Eat olives and avocados or coconut oil before each meal. (Dr. perricone advocates that). Eat fatty fish or add fish oils to your diet. This is NOT atkins. You will eat whatever you want but the trick is eat a portion of fat equal to the size of what you want (junk,) but eat the fat first. Make sure to eat plenty of vegetables and as much as possible cut out ALL grains.
That way you can eat a lot and you will burn body fat and gain muscle tissue. But make sure to eat protein as well. 1 portion of fat, one of protein and 1 of vegetables at lunch and dinner. Breakfast i would have bacon and eggs or liver and butter. Good luck Hon! Happy reducing.

depends on your weight, if you can maintain your weight right now stead with lets say 2000Cal, and you go to 1500 yes you’ll loose weight now if you are at your weight with 1500 and you keep eating that then nope…
    there’s a calculation for that

  14. Roberto S. on February 10th, 2010 at 11:03 am

Yes it would. Do not eat after 6 p.m.
Do the best you can on this, however, the good news is you can virtually eat like a pig all day long, and if you stop eating after six you will still lose weight!

It depends – if you do that, but do absolutely NO exercise, then no, not really. It will go a lot faster if you have a healthy diet, and have plenty of exersice in between.

  16. Hallie A on February 10th, 2010 at 5:59 pm

Probably, but it won’t be healthy at all. You’ll be missing all the required vitamins and such your body needs to be healthy. Maybe you should consider eating right before you consider cutting your calories. I lost 5 pounds once just by cutting soda out of my diet, and I did nothing different then before. Also, try cutting out anything fried/fatty. Lower carb intake can help too.

  17. Duskin on February 10th, 2010 at 10:10 pm

Look at people at poor countries when have huge difficulties with food and they are skin on the skelet now imagine a fat guy under those conditions how long he will be fat over there.
So these stories iam eat like bird but only adding a weight is bullshit and forget about calories.

  18. asxza on February 11th, 2010 at 3:05 am

Just compare it to your usual consumption, If you’re eating less it will have an effect (however 1500 will not be a dramatic effect).
Lean towards 1k – calories though, and consider exercising regardless. A quick jog will never hurt! :-)

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
