Do People Who Are On A <1500 Calories A Day Diet Need To Worry About Where They Get These Calories?

Just wondering if, as long as one keeps to the calorie limits exactly, can one eat say a chocolate muffin, or a chocolate bar high in fat and sugar every week or so without getting fat/gaining weight?

    Yes 1500 calories from fat and sugar will make you gain weight. However as long as you generally eat healthy you can have your chocolate once in a while just don’t eat 1500 calories of chocolate. Keep the majority of your calories healthy and you’ll be fine.

    Yes, because you need to eat things that provide you with vitamins. You need 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, you need whole grains and protein. If you eat less than 1500 of junk food you will feel it after a while, maybe not on the scale, but you will be tired all the time and your skin will get ashy and dry and your hair will stop growing and start falling out.
    If you eat lots of vegetables, whole grains and lean protein you can give your body all it needs on less than 1500 calories a day.

    Repeat after me: Fat is my friend, sugar is my enemy. Simple sugars cause insulin spikes, which lower your blood sugar and make you hungry. Fats, on the other hand, are very hard for your body to break into so you’ll stay full longer.
    Also, eat a ton of protein. If you’re eating under your caloric replacement, your body will want to burn muscle as well as fat, but increasing protein levels will make it keep more muscle.
    If you’re going to eat chocolate, learn to love dark chocolate. It’s lower in sugar and way better for you (although don’t use that as an excuse to eat more)

    yes as long as you eat in moderation as you say one per week is fine. and not one everyday. If you are sticking to the same calorie intake as well each day then you should be fine, just keep exercising and you will be fine….everything in moderation!! ;)
