Low calorie smoothies?

John Mackenzie asked:

Hi, i’m looking for a nice healthy low calorie smoothie.
Looking for one that may be lowish on calories as i’m trying to substitute my diet soda for more healthy options.
I’m not fat by any means but i do drink alot of diet soda! ( 3 litres a day maybe more :S ) and i researched the side affects and did not like!

So does anyone have a fairly quick and low calorie smoothie recipe i could try out to substitute for my diet drinks? ( i also drink flavored water and things aswell )

thanks for your time :D

How to make a (Summer Breeze)

This is a real Beach drink, and there’s no reason why you cant have one in your very own home! Rich in Vitamins A & C, this Smoothie is great for maintaining healthy skin, and also an excellent immune system booster! You will need:

    Blender [Need one of these?]
    2x Peaches (Ripe is best)
    1x Mango
Half a Lemon (A whole one CAN be used, but at your own risk of bitterness!)
1x Cup of Natural Mineral Water
    3-4 Crushed Ice Cubes
The amount listed should serve one person and allow a little extra for a quick fix later on or if you are just in thirsty for more!

    Step 1
First, we want to prepare the Mango. We have to cut it in half, removing the stone in the process. Using a knife and being careful, remove the skin of the Mango to reveal the fleshy surface. Chop into chunks and place in Blender. Repeat this process with the Peaches. Set at a low speed for 20 seconds.

    Step 2
During this time, we want to cut a Lemon in half and crush the ice by placing in a bag or kitchen towel, and controlled hits with a Mincing Hammer. Stop the Blender and Squeeze all the Lemon juice into it. A Juice extractor is perfect for this job and minimizes waste – Buy one here. Add the ice and water to the mix. Set at a high speed for 30 seconds.

    Step 3
Enjoy this Drink outside in the Sun, or after a sport exercise when you need a refreshing drink.

i like to mix soda water or sparkling natural mineral water with a squeeze of lime juice. Or you can use a squeeze of anything – lemon, blueberries, orange…
